James Nolan returned from Paris last week where he represented Ireland and Nolan Butchers of Kilcullen at the annual Fins Goustiers awards.

Nolan Butchers of Kilcullen were the only Business to be awarded a trophy in the 4 different categories open to registered craft butchers from all over Europe.

With Christmas coming up James was delighted that Nolan’s Low Salt Home Baked Ham won the award for the best Festive Product in Ireland which was a huge achievement and his Spiced Beef was a close runner up.

Nolan’s Famous Traditional Pork Sausages won the highly acclaimed Prix d’Excellence for the third year in a row and the other 2 awards were for their Home Made White Pudding and a new product Nolan’s Reduced Fat Turkey Sausages.

On his return home from France, James was quick to give the credit to Fred Mitchell who makes the Sausages & Pudding fresh every day, Dermott Mitchell who makes the Hams and Emily Behan who bakes all the Hams, and to Marc Behan for coming up with the great idea of a reduced Fat Turkey Sausage.

The awards in France finish off what has been an amazing year for Nolan’s of Kilcullen as they had already won the very prestigious award of Champion of Champion’s Butchers Shop in the U.K. & Ireland at the House of Lords in London in February of this year

James Nolan stressed that none of this would have been possible without the phenomenal support from all the customers that visit Nolan’s of Kilcullen and for all the incredibly hard work put in by the Team of staff in Kilcullen that make Nolan’s of Kilcullen the unique Butchers Shop that it is.
