Rural Oscars London - 4th Feburary 2015 

IRISH FAMILY BUSINESS, NOLAN'S OF KILCULLEN, WIN PRESTIGIOUS CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS AWARD AT HOUSE OF LORDS, LONDON

Nolan’s of Kilcullen, Co. Kildare have won the very prestigious title of champion of champions at the Rural Oscars last Wednesday in London. They were the only Irish business that was invited to compete in the Countryside Alliance Champion of Champions “Rural Oscars” competition.

The Awards celebrate communities, produce, enterprise and rural heritage and applaud those who routinely go the extra mile for their community and help to promote rural life.

Countryside Alliance invited the Champions from the past 10 years to compete for the title of Champion of Champions.

Over the past ten years they have had over 35,000 businesses nominated by the public for the prestigious Countryside Alliance awards.

NOLAN’S OF KILCULLEN WON THE AWARD FOR THE BEST “FESTIVE PRODUCT” AT THE EUROPEAN CRAFT BUTCHERS COMPETITIONS IN PARIS THIS OCTOBER.

THE COMPETITION IS RUN ON AN ANNUAL BASIS BY THE COMMANDERIE DES FINS GOUSTERIES DU DUCHE d’ALENCON.

NOLAN’S HOME CURED & HOME BAKED LOW SALT HAM WON THE AWARD FOR THE BEST FESTIVE PRODUCT IN THE U.K. & IRELAND AT THE COMPETITION.

DERMOTT MITCHELL HAS WORKED IN NOLAN’S FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CURING OF ALL THE HAMS ALL DURING THE YEAR AND ALL THE CHRISTMAS HAMS, EVERY YEAR.
EMILY BEHAN HAS THE ONEROUS TASK OF PREPARING AND BAKING ALL THE CHRISTMAS HAMS WHICH TAKE TIME AND KNOWLEDGE TO ENSURE THAT THE HAMS ARE BAKED TO PERFECTION.
